Everton supporters have been pretty buoyant in recent times after seeing their team earn a credible draw in their most recent Premier League encounter.
Marco Silva’s men went into their meeting with in-form and high-flying Chelsea ten days ago off the back of easing past Brighton in their previous league clash, and thus full of confidence ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge. And the Toffees made the journey back to Merseyside with a deserved point following a 0-0 draw in West London, a result which kept Silva’s side in ninth place in the Premier League table.
As such, there have been many thrilled Evertonians up and down the country in recent times, several of whom are growing increasingly excited by what the future holds for their side under new manager Silva, who is leading something of a revolution at Goodison Park following a testing 12 months for the club.
And things look set to get even better for the club once Henry Onyekuru is cleared to play for the Toffees, what with the 21-year-old making the move to Everton back in 2017 but having yet to feature having failed to acquire a work permit.
But given he has lit up Anderlecht and Galatasaray on loan in recent times, thus prompting reported interest from some big European clubs, the £7.2 million signing (as per Transfermarkt) appears to be the man to take Silva’s revolution to the next level in years to come.
Ultimately, Everton were seen to have pulled off quite the coup last year in luring the Nigeria international to Goodison Park, what with Onyekuru scoring 24 goals in just 41 games for Belgian side Eupen in the 2016/17 campaign.
Yet work permit issues meant that the Toffees have had no choice but to ship him out on loan in the last 12 months or so, and the 21-year-old has certainly made the most of his time at both Anderlecht and Galatasaray to likely leave Everton fans drooling at the prospect of his return.
The forward scored ten goals in just 28 games for Belgian giants Anderlecht, all of which came before the New Year given his season was cut short due to a ligament injury sustained in December 2017 – as such, he finished the campaign with a very impressive scoring rate.
And he has since returned from injury this term by making the move to Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray, where he has netted four times in ten Super Lig games, including a brace in their most recent victory over Kayserispor 11 days ago.
As such, it’s clear that Onyekuru is making great strides on loan and appears to be developing into a quality forward, which can only be good news for Silva and Everton fans as, when he does eventually return to Goodison Park, he’s a player who could seriously benefit the Portuguese’s side.
And with Silva’s revolution firmly underway on the blue half of Merseyside, 21-year-old Onyekuru, who they landed for what is looking increasingly like a bargain as time goes on, looks to be the man to help take such revolution to the next level.
