Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are fuming after hearing that the FA will not be taking action against Ashley Barnes, who of course made headlines after tackling Nemanja Matic so recklessly that the normally ice cool Chelsea player lost the plot and saw red.
However while Blues boss Jose Mourinho sets about making people aware of the ‘campaign’ surrounding his side in a way American Presidential candidates would be proud of, it is worth noting that his players are not exactly angels.
We’ve seen John Terry handle the ball so many times over the last decade that he could double up as a goalkeeper and Diego Costa take to life at the club like a duck to water. One of our regulars also reminds us of a shocking tackle by Gary Cahill on Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez and Mourinho’s claim that John Obi Mikel’s horrific tackle on Mikel Arteta last season was part of a game for ‘men.’
