Man Utd’s goalkeeping situation is uncertain this summer, and the fans in the Transfer Tavern are growing increasingly concerned…
David De Gea has been touted with a move away, but it would appear as though Jose Mourinho has a plan up his sleeve.
According to the Daily Star, Jack Butland is on Man Utd’s radar this summer – with the Englishman seemingly seen as a potential replacement for De Gea should he depart. Any move will be difficult to complete, though, with the likes of Chelsea and Man City also reportedly keen on a move.
It will come as no surprise to learn that Butland is attracting suitors, with the English goalkeeper arguably one of England’s brightest talents. A cruel injury has hampered his development this season, but there is no doubting how impressive he was prior to that. An excellent shot-stopper with agility and aerial dominance – the 24-year-old would certainly be able to do a job for a top Premier League side.
Chelsea’s need for his arrival could be about to get more severe, with reports linking Asmir Begovic with a move away. Should that happen, Butland would need to make a decision on whether he is ready for a bit-part role at Stamford Bridge, should the Blues make a move of course.
