Rangers have been a very busy club in the transfer window this summer. Under new gaffer, Steven Gerrard, they’ve shown just how ambitious they can be with a number of big signngs and Gerrard has identified the club’s weaknesses and started to sort them. Now, according to Four Lads had a Dream on Twitter, the club could be nearing a deal for NK Osijek defender, Borna Barisic.

Stevie G had an opportunity to see Barisic up close recently as the Gers faced NK Osijek in their Europa league second-round playoff. In the 180 minutes over two games against their Croatian opponents, Gerrard’s side came out on top, winning 2-1 on aggregate. Barisic played every minute of the tie and whilst his teammates from those two games will still be getting over their Europa League heartbreak, the 25-year-old could be getting another chance.
Gerrard and co will be welcoming NK Maribor to Ibrox in just three days time in the third round of Europa League qualifying and whilst Barisic may well have signed by then, he won’t be eligible to play in the Europa league qualifying fixtures due to his involvements with Osijek. The left-back would become the second Croatian to join Ibrox this summer after Nikola Katic and he’ll be hoping that he can impress the fans bombing down the left flank in Glasgow during the upcoming season.
You can read the Bluenoses’ verdict on Barisic here:
Would be a fantastic signing if we can get it over the line, was very impressive against us in both games.

The only player a thought was good for them over the 2 legs. But as a full back surly we have enough cover there? Or can he play as a CB?
