Plenty of Rangers fans have been complaining about the scheduling of their Scottish Cup fixture next month for a Friday night.
The televised fixtures for the fourth round of the cup were announced yesterday (as per scottishfa.co.uk), with the Light Blues’ home game against Stranraer moved to Friday January 17th with a 7:45pm kick-off due to its selection for live broadcasting by Premier Sports, as noted by @ibroxrocks on Twitter.
I love a Friday game at Ibrox but even I can’t believe they chose us for the telly 😀 pic.twitter.com/JNnrUoKrIQ

Steven Gerrard’s team are well acquainted with playing on weekday nights this season due to their Europa League commitments, but this is the first fixture to be pencilled in for a Friday and it will also be Rangers’ first match following the winter break in early January. [via TransferMarkt]
The Light Blues will be aiming to win the Scottish Cup for the first time since 2009, with their last appearance in a final coming four seasons ago, while their interest in the tournament last season was ended by Aberdeen in a quarter-final replay.

These Rangers fans took to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the Friday night scheduling of the Stranraer game next month:
stops me taking my boy to his first game. Absolutely gutted.

bonkers but unsurprising, hopefully it’s priced sensibly

Ridiculous. Great game to take kids to for their first experience and it’s lumped into a Friday night.
