The Colombian, 23, has scored 28 goals and registered nine assists in 35 games for the club so far this season, form that has cemented his place in the national team’s plans.
He’s become a fan favourite at Rangers, firing them into the knockout stages of the Europa League, and to within two points of Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic.
Steven Gerrard’s side’s latest win was huge, defeating their arch rivals at Celtic Park.
Ryan Kent and Nikola Katic were on the score-sheet, helping them to close the gap at the top of the table.
Morelos was at the centre of a number of controversial moments in that Old Firm clash, being dismissed in stoppage time after receiving a second yellow card.
He made a gesture as he left the field, but has since been defended by an official club statement.
They also posted support for their star striker on Twitter, and the fans loved it, here’s how some of them reacted:
Stand up for Alfredo. They are trying to demonise him, AGAIN ❤💙
