Kyle Lafferty will be unavailable for when Rangers travel to New Douglas Park to face Hamilton on Sunday. The Irish FA have invoked FIFA’s five-day rule which means that Lafferty will be unavailable at the weekend as he pulled out of Northern Ireland’s UEFA Nations League matches just before the side flew off to face Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina. As the 31-year-old didn’t comply with the call-up, the IFA can place a restriction on the player turning out for their club and this can be prolonged for five days, which blocks his participation for this game.
Let’s take a look at ‘Gers fans thoughts on the matter.

One fan felt the rest will do Lafferty good ahead of the fixtures coming up.
Keep him rested. Fixtures coming thick and fast over next week or so.

However, another fan did feel this is the kind of match he would thrive in.

A section of ‘Gers fans aren’t impressed and believe he should be punished.
He should be fined by the club. We are now a striker short on Sunday. Gerrard is livid I hear.

If Kyle made a mistake then it's just the player that should be punished for his error & not the club.

This fan, in particular, is more so awaiting Steven Gerrard’s thoughts on this when questioned.
Can’t wait for Gerrard to clamps all the media goons that try question him about it tomorrow at the presser.

A small section of fans feel that Lafferty shouldn’t feature again for his international side from the forward’s perspective.
No problems with NI FA but I have to say if I was Lafferty I would not play for him again.
