Sunday afternoon at Hampden Park ended in disappointment for Steven Gerrard and Rangers as they lost 1-0 to Celtic in the Betfred Cup final.
Christopher Jullien’s goal on the hour mark was enough to condemn the Gers to defeat, with Alfredo Morelos blowing the chance to level things up after he missed a penalty shortly after.
With Celtic forced to play with 10 men for half an hour following Jeremie Frimpong’s sending off, it was a huge opportunity missed for Rangers as their search for silverware goes on.
Nevertheless, Steven Gerrard was still pleased with his team’s performance on the day, declaring that, despite losing, they were the better outfit (via Rangers official Twitter account).
And it seems supporters agreed with their manager’s take, as they took to Twitter to agree with him and express their belief that they can still win silverware this season.
Have a look at what they have been saying below…

Keep it going gaffer, we’ll get there. A lot of fickle ‘fans’ in defeat.

Miles better than them. 3 offside, including goalscorer, for the goal. Missed pen. They jammied it. They know it. No gap anymore. The league is there to take

Before he came in we were escaping from OF games relieved it was only 4 or 5, the job he has done to close down the gap in 18 months after what we’ve gone through for a decade is almost incredible, win one trophy and many more will follow, almost there, keep the heads up….

Great reaction Stevie, we just need to learn to beat them. Our time will come! ..
