Going into the club’s Betfred Cup final against Celtic, Several Rangers fans were left disappointed after seeing the team sheet.
Why? Well largely because a certain Steven Davis was missing. The 34-year-old has been suffering with a foot injury, forcing him to miss Sunday’s cup final clash at Hampden Park.
Given his importance to Steven Gerrard’s side, the reaction to his absence was hardly surprising. Davis has played 13 games this season in the SPFL for the Liverpool legend, grabbing two assists in the process. The Northern Ireland international has also featured in all five of Rangers’ Europa League group stage fixtures thus far, registering against Porto in a 2-0 win.
With the Scottish League Cup final behind him, should he be fit, Davis will now be hoping to make more contributions in Europe and help fire Rangers into the knockout round of the Europa League when they take on Young Boys on Thursday.
