Loads of Glasgow Rangers fans have been left gushing over some news that has emerged on Leon King.
As per the official website of the Ibrox faithful, the Academy graduate has now signed a deal at the club until the summer of 2024.
It is a big contract to tie down, given that there was strong interest from some clubs in the Premier League for his signature, including the newly-rich Newcastle United and also Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa.
Should Rangers have hired van Bronckhorst?
King is still just 17 years of age, and so to have teams from the top flight interested in him is testament to just how much of a prospect he is.
The central defender has already played twice for the senior side, and has represented Scotland a total of nine times at youth level, showing different manager’s faiths in him. Nonetheless, getting King tied down was important for the future of the club.
