Many Glasgow Rangers fans have been left buzzing over some transfer news on Danilho Doekhi.
As per Dutch news outlet De Gelderlander, the Ibrox faithful are one of a number of clubs following the Vitesse central defender in the January transfer window, alongside Dinamo Zagreb and Napoli.
He could well be a replacement for Connor Goldson, whose contract situation with the Light Blues is still at a stalemate, as Doekhi's deal at Vitesse is also up in the summer.
Doekhi would arguably be an upgrade on Goldson, given that he has averaged more tackles, interceptions, clearances and blocks per game in their respective domestic leagues so far this season (WhoScored), while he is also six years younger, and so has much more room to develop.
Nonetheless, he is also the captain of Vitesse, and so would offer Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team extra leadership qualities off of the pitch as well as on it.
