Glasgow Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has quashed talk of a Premier League move.
Kamara keen to stay at Rangers
Kamara has spent the international break away with Finland, with him starting in the 2-0 UEFA Nations League win against Bulgaria. Former Celtic striker Teemu Pukki recently said that Kamara could play in the English top flight, and the Gers man has responded.
It seems that he has no imminent desire to move to England. He said:
“I’m not focused on that kind of thing. I’m focusing on this game.
“I enjoy playing with the national team and enjoy the manager, enjoy the group of boys that I’m with, and it’s always an honour to play for the national team.
“Since I’ve started playing, I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve got to know the players, I’ve got to know how the team plays and I feel like I’ve fitted in quite well, so hopefully long may it continue.”
Plenty of interest
The 24-year-old has ended up being a true bargain for Steven Gerrard and co. Signed for just £50,000, he has been linked with a €10m (£9m) move to Marseille this year thanks to his displays. In August, 90min.com reported that both Everton and Newcastle were tracking the former Dundee man.
Will Glen Kamara be at Rangers next season?
This promises to be an important year for Kamara. Having appeared in nine out of 10 Premiership games this term, he is set to play a big role with the 54-time Scottish champions, whilst he will likely represent his country at their first ever European Championships next year. A Premier League move may happen at some point, but for now he is better off concentrating on the job at hand.
