A Premier League giant has reportedly now held a meeting over signing Alex Lowry from Glasgow Rangers in the summer.

The Lowdown: Newcastle talks

It was reported earlier this week that Newcastle United have held talks with Lowry's agent over a potential move this summer, after he reportedly rejected a three-and-a-half-year contract at Ibrox.

His current deal expires in 2023, and so the Teddy Bears now have a big decision to make over whether to cash in on Lowry in the summer or try and push him once more to sign a new contract.

The Latest: Man City meeting

As per Football Insider, a recruitment source has revealed that Premier League giants Manchester City have now held a meeting with Lowry's camp, as they too plot a potential move in the summer.

The reigning English top-flight champions are 'tracking' Lowry amid 'major doubts' over his future at the Light Blues.

The Verdict: Worrying

It is certainly worrying that a team of the stature and attraction of Man City are now looking at the possibility of signing Lowry this summer.

He is a player that is highly thought of at the club, and has already made four senior appearances this season despite being just 18 years of age.

Described as a 'fabulous' player by journalist Josh Bunting, Lowry is certainly someone that the Gers will not want to let go of so easily.
