Rangers: Fans unhappy with Dave King news

Glasgow Rangers fans have been reacting to the news that Dave King will sell his shares in the club to supporters group Club 1872.
King dropped the bombshell on Tuesday, with him revealing that he will be selling his stake in the Ibrox outfit after investing £40m down the years. Club 1872 will need to pay £13m to take control of his 20.37% stake in the club. If the deal does go through, it will see the supporters group become the biggest shareholder, with them set to own around 25% of the 54-time Scottish champions.
This news has attracted plenty of attention from the Gers supporters, as you can imagine, and plenty of the fans are not too happy with the news. Some are worried that Club 1872 will never be able to raise that amount of money, while others want him to stay at the club.

The mere thought of c1872 having that much power in its current form is even more terrifying ,

With so many HNW investors involved you can’t say with any confidence that position will hold. What happens if someone like Gibson wants to go again in a couple of years? You end up with C1872 faced with option of blocking investment or being diluted & inevitable civil war…

Glad wasn’t just me. That read the story and thought. Can’t see that working. Can see massive infighting.

Opinion:
Club 1872 lacks transparency & has been shambolic since its formation.
Fan ownership at a club like Rangers will never work. There’s always the potential need for a benefactor (King, Park etc) to get us through rough patches.
Spend your money in Rangers Town instead

King not being close to the club makes me nervous to be honest.
