Glasgow Rangers fans have slammed comments from journalist Ewan Murray.
The Gers were in action on Thursday against Lech Poznan in the Europa League, with Cedric Itten and Ianis Hagi netting the two goals. As a result, the Ibrox outfit topped their group in the European competition, which is the latest success in what has already been an impressive campaign to date.
During the match against their Polish opponents, Murray decided to put out a rather bizarre tweet. He took aim at those who look at who provides the assist for a goal, saying that they should be “dealt with appropiately” and that the whole idea is nothing but a craze that has never been a thing.
Are you a fan of Ewan Murray?
It is hard to know where to begin with his comments, but the Gers fans did their best as they took to the social media platform to respond.
Let’s see what the fans had to say to Murray below
You’re getting worse, this is pathetic, I’m a couple of years older than you and “who set up the goal” has always been important, just not recorded! You really do need to stick to golf, where approach play doesn’t count, 🤔, oh, wait a minute, it does, who knew eh?

Wow. Just wow. They’ve ALWAYS been a thing Ewan. Get back to golf.

Astounds me that you still make a wage. Dinosaur

They have been a thing in football and will always be. This is a nonsense statement.

You know sometimes you don’t need to tweet every thought that comes to your head. Sometimes that would be better.

I know. Imagine not having somebody passing or crossing the ball to the player who scores the goal. Let’s just make it 1 v 1
