Rangers: Gers eye loan move for Billy Gilmour

According to The Times, Glasgow Rangers are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour on loan in January.
Gilmour on Gers radar
Gilmour, who used to play for Rangers before making the switch to London, has played just 95 minutes for the Blues so far this term after recovering from a serious knee injury.
As such, a number of clubs are eyeing a short-term move for the 19-year-old as he looks to improve on his playing time. The 54-time Scottish champions are one of those sides.
Shock target
Gilmour would no doubt be a shock target for the Ibrox outfit. Despite still being a teenager, the Scotland U21 international has already been on the end of plenty of praise, with him being compared to the likes of Roy Keane and Paul Gascoigne, while Keane himself called him “world-class” after his performance against Liverpool in the F.A Cup last season.
Would you like to sign Billy Gilmour?
Yes

No

Whether he would be interested in a switch to Glasgow, even if only in the short-term, is up for debate. Without any disrespect towards Rangers, Gilmour has already broken into the first-team at one of European football’s biggest clubs – it’s unlikely he would rather play in the Premiership than the Premier League.
Still, if Steven Gerrard was able to capture the youngster, even if just for six months, it would be a huge coup, and would add that extra quality that could be the difference towards the business end of the campaign.
In other news, this Gers man is reportedly on the verge of an exit away from the club.
