According to Football Insider, Brandon Barker is in a fight to save his Glasgow Rangers career ahead of the January transfer window.
Barker on the edge
Barker has been in and out of Steven Gerrard’s side so far this campaign, making 10 appearances in all competitions for the Ibrox outfit.
His chances have come due to his performances in training according to this report. However, he has struggled to nail down a place in the starting line-up as a result. As such, he may be forced to move on in January as he looks to secure more playing time.
This may not be much of a surprise to plenty of the Rangers supporters. He is not the most popular figure amongst the club’s supporters, who have made it clear that they expect much more from the 24-year-old winger.
Should Rangers sell Brandon Barker?
Barker does has the raw qualities that made him “dangerous”, which is how Gerrard described him earlier this year. He has pace and trickery, for example, and he has managed to score two goals so far this campaign.
However, at this point, he should really be a bigger part of his manager’s plans. The time to impress may already have passed – it remains to be seen what happens in January.
In other news, Rangers fans rage at this SPFL decision.
