Glasgow Rangers fans slammed a tweet from Ewan Murray after the Gers were drawn to play Slavia Prague in the Europa League round of 16.
The Gers progressed to the next round of the competition after beating Royal Antwerp 9-5 on aggregate. In 11 games in the competition so far this campaign, the Gers are unbeaten (Sky Sports). Slavia did defeat Leicester City in the round of 32, but the Gers will feel they have a good chance of making the quarter-finals.
The Guardian journalist Murray decided to put a negative spin on the outcome of the draw. He pointed out that the Czech side have scored 58 goals in 20 games in the league this season, and that is something that should concern Steven Gerrard and co as they shipped five to Antwerp.
Will Rangers progress to the quarter-finals?
Murray shared his thoughts on Twitter, and his comments angered the Gers supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.

“We are the only Scottish side to have performed at any level in Europe for the last 3 seasons a bit of support from the mainstream media would be nice and unexpected”
“Rangers have averaged just under 2.5 goals per game in the league and have just scored 9 in two legs, Slavia have also conceded 12 goals in 20 while Rangers have conceded 8 league goals all season…try not to be such a negative so and so”
