Glasgow Rangers fans are gutted after Steven Gerrard revealed midfielder Ryan Jack will miss the European Championships with Scotland due to injury.
Jack has managed just 24 appearances in all competitions for the Gers so far this campaign, missing a large chunk of the term with a number of different injury problems (Transfermarkt). A calf issue, in particular, has been troubling him for a while.
Can Gerrard rely on Ryan Jack?
Now, prior to the Old Firm clash in the Scottish Cup with Celtic on Sunday, Gerrard revealed Jack will need an operation and will therefore be unable to represent his country this summer. While this may be good news for the Gers in the long run, it is a crushing blow for the 29-year-old – he may not get another chance to play for Scotland at an international tournament.
The update was shared on Rangers’ official Twitter account, and it attracted plenty of attention from the Gers supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
