Some Glasgow Rangers fans are livid with the Scottish FA following a statement after a match official breached coronavirus protocols.
The Gers have had plenty of issues with the governing body this term in regards to lockdown regulations. Towards the end of 2020, George Edmundson and Jordan Jones received seven-game bans after attending a small gathering (BBC), and now a further five players, including Nathan Patterson, Bongani Zungu and Calvin Bassey are also in hot water after committing a similar breach (Sky Sports).
It has now emerged that one of the officials from Hamilton’s match with Hibernian on Saturday should have been self-isolating. The SFA have apologised, and that now appears to be the end of the matter.
Is this apology enough?
This has enraged the Gers supporters, especially considering the punishment that their own players were given last year. The news was shared by BBC Sport Scotland on Twitter, and the fans took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on what they seemingly thought was a breach that was equally as bad as the ones committed by their own players.
Let’s see what the Rangers fans had to say below
“The SFA just specialise in incompetence.”
“No way! The SFA really are a joke!”
“Just shows how organised this association are”
“What a shambles the Scottish FA are, the laughing stock of world football”
