Glasgow Rangers are reportedly now considering selling Alfredo Morelos in the summer.

The Lowdown: Contract running down

Morelos is under contract with the Teddy Bears until 2023, but with no signs of renewing his current deal at the moment, he will only have a year left come the summer.

Thus, his market value will start to plummet once that final 12 months starts to tick down, and so the summer may be the best time for the Light Blues to cash in.

The Latest: Could be sold

As per Football Insider, an Ibrox source has revealed that the club are now 'braced' for bids for their star striker, and one offer has already been 'lined up'.

The Gers are set to hold out for a transfer fee of at least £13m, should they decide to sell him.

The Verdict: Hard to replace

Even if RFC got a club-record £13m fee for him, Morelos would no doubt be very hard to replace.

Described as a 'menace' by BBC Sportscene pundit Michael Stewart, he remains their top scorer this season on 19 goals, and has managed no fewer than 113 in total during his five campaigns at Ibrox.

However, his contract situation does put the board in a difficult position themselves, and if Morelos definitely will not sign a new one, then the Colombia international may well force their hands by letting him go in the summer.
