Rangers: ‘Gers made just one offer for Daniel Johnson

Glasgow Rangers made just one offer for Preston North End’s Daniel Johnson during the transfer window according to Lancashire Live.
The ‘Gers were heavily linked with the Jamaican but in the end nothing concrete materialised and he ended up staying at Deepdale.
It has now been revealed that the 54-time Scottish champions made just one offer of £1.5m, and even that was to be paid in instalments. Needless to say, that was not close to what the Championship outfit were seeking (as per Lancashire Live).
Johnson was in fantastic form last season for the Lilywhites, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists in the second tier. However, the speculation surrounding his future does not appear to have helped him this season, with him appearing just once, and that coming in the Carabao Cup – although he did score in that clash against Derby (as per Transfermarkt).
Are you disappointed to have missed out on Daniel Johnson?
Yes

No

Whilst the ‘Gers were linked with him, it is pretty clear that he was not a necessity for Steven Gerrard. Otherwise, the Ibrox outfit would have surely made an offer much more to Preston’s liking. When you consider they are now said to be in advanced talks with Jack Wilshere over a move, you can perhaps understand why they didn’t greatly push the boat out for Johnson.
