According to Football Insider, Kai Kennedy has turned down a new contract at Glasgow Rangers.

There had been previous reports of a stalemate between the ‘Gers and the 18-year-old, with Manchester City and Bayern Munich said to be circling.

It now appears Kennedy has flatly rejected a new deal at Ibrox, with the youngster apparently demanding more lucrative terms than those being offered to him (as per Football Insider).

This could be quite a blow for the Ibrox outfit – Kennedy is a highly-rated player at the club and, given the prestige of the clubs that are said to be in pursuit, he clearly has something special. It is worrying that, even at his tender age and with just one single appearance for the 54-time Scottish champions to his name, money appears to be playing a role in negotiations.

For that reason, and the unlikelihood of him signing a new deal beyond the one that ends next summer anyway, the ‘Gers should look to move him on as soon as possible. If they sell him this summer, they may at least pick up some kind of fee, even if it won’t be a king’s ransom. Then they can concentrate on the other talents who really want to make their mark at Ibrox.
‘Gers fans, should the club let Kennedy leave if he is unwilling to meet the terms being offered to him? Let us know what you think by commenting below!
