According to Football Insider, Stoke City have slapped a not-for-sale tag on to striker Tyrese Campbell amidst interest from Glasgow Rangers.
Stoke want to keep Campbell
The Gers have been linked with a move for Campbell recently, with the striker’s father and former Premier League forward Kevin saying that the Ibrox outfit had made a move at the start of this year.
Tyrese did end up signing a new contract at the club, and the Potters have now moved to make it clear that they do not intend to sell the 20-year-old.
Back to the drawing board
Campbell has been in top form for Stoke this campaign, racking up six goals and six assists in 15 games in the Championship. Stoke are going well in the Championship so far this term as they currently sit in eighth place in the table, two points behind the play-off places. Stoke manager Michael O’Neill has even said that he is a “top finisher”.
Would you liked to sign Tyrese Campbell?
Alfredo Morelos could well be on the move soon – after all, he was heavily linked with a move away from Ibrox during the summer – and therefore a new striker could be on Steven Gerrard’s radar. Currently valued at £4.05m (Transfermartk) and with plenty of time left on his contract, Campbell would not necessarily come cheap, but he would still be an interesting option. Now, though, it looks like Gerrard and Ross Wilson will have to go back to the drawing board.
In other news, Gerrard is disgusted with this incident against Ross County.
