Rangers: Fans slam Ewan Murray tweet

Glasgow Rangers fans are far from happy with a tweet from Ewan Murray.

The Gers are currently enjoying themselves. Despite their 1-1 draw with Motherwell last weekend, they are still 21 points clear at the top of the Premiership with 14 games to play (BBC), and they have a Europa League round of 32 fixture against Royal Antwerp from Belgium still to come.

Can you get 10/10 on our random Rangers players quiz? We doubt it...

However, a tweet from Murray appears to have angered the supporters. The Guardian journalist suggested on Twitter that former Celtic players are quicker to criticise their club more than their Rangers counterparts, but these members of the Ibrox outfit’s fanbase were quick to disagree. In the past, they have had issues with comments made by their former stars, in particular, Barry Ferguson.

“Absolute rubbish”

“Absolute nonsense…..Boyd, Ferguson etc all very critical of Rangers when we haven’t done things right”

“I’m convinced you just do this for attention”

“That’s just utter rubbish”

“This is utter nonsense. So many ex Rangers players always happy to stick the boot in – some more than others. It’s only the last few months the Celtic cheerleaders such as Sutton have found their voice. Before that him, Hartson etc were all behind “Lenny””

“Nonsense. Boyd has changed his tune in recent times & I cringe when a Ferguson brother speaks. McCoist upsets fans often. The issue is Celtic have a PR machine with Sutton, Hartson, Stubbs, McNamara etc & guys like Provan, Walker, Nicholas & Bonner simply have their own opinions.”

In other news, it has been suggested that this Rangers striker could leave during the January window.
