Rangers: Fans unhappy with club tweet

Glasgow Rangers fans are far from happy with a tweet from the club’s official account congratulating Glenn Middleton on winning the Scottish Cup with St. Johnstone.

Middleton made the temporary move to the Saints in January after he was unable to break into the Rangers first team. It has been a successful move – he has made 13 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing one assist (Transfermarkt).

On Saturday, St. Johnstone faced Hibernian in the Scottish Cup final, and they lifted the trophy after winning 1-0. It is the second piece of silverware they lifted this term as they also prevailed in the Scottish League Cup. Given he is only on loan, the Gers’ official Twitter account decided to congratulate Middleton on his success, but for reasons that remains unclear, the Gers supporters were far from happy.
