The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful in thinking that Steven Gerrard could be the manager to bring back the Scottish Premiership trophy to Ibrox.
It’s a big risk move for all involved considering that Gerrard hasn’t had a proper managerial job before. His skills on the pitch were unquestionable but will he be the man to lead Rangers to a great future? Our punters certainly hope so at least and they also believe that West Ham’s Josh Cullen, who is valued at £900k on Transfermarkt, could be a smart purchase with the future in mind.
Cullen, a central-midfielder was once very highly rated as a West Ham youngster but after loan spells haven’t always been successful for him, his long-term Hammers future looks bleak. At 22, the Irishman still has great potential and with a move to the Scottish League, his best form could finally be presented. Rangers only have to look at his time spent on loan with Bradford, where after one season there he picked up four individual awards, including players player of the year and supporters player of the year.
His ability on the ball is undoubted, Cullen has a fine range of passing and also isn’t afraid to put his foot in to stop an attack coming their way. With the 22-year-old likely to be available this summer, Rangers would be able to pick him up, which could be a shrewd bit of business going forward.
Josh Cullen may not automatically be a big name for Rangers fans to get excited about but with his past performances in mind, Cullen could surprise many on his way to becoming an important player for the Gers.
