The performance of Sheyi Ojo on Wednesday night elicited a quite polarised range of opinions from some Rangers fans on Twitter.
The winger was given his first Premiership start in three months in the 2-0 home win over Ross County, who coincidentally provided the opposition on the previous occasion that he started a league game. [via TransferMarkt]
Ojo was castigated by some ‘Gers supporters after his substitute appearance in last Sunday’s defeat at Hearts but, having been called into the starting line-up by Steven Gerrard three days later, he soon sought to try and repay his manager’s faith with a 16th-minute effort that flashed wide of the far post. The 22-year-old was later involved in Rangers’ second goal of the night, driving at the opposition before picking out Jermain Defoe, who then flicked the ball to Scott Arfield to provide the finish (as per Sky Sports).
Ojo’s performance drew largely positive reviews from reporters afterwards. James Black of Rangers News said that he “drifted out of the game at spells in the first half but looked dangerous when he pushed forward”, while Ayush Chaurasia of The 4th Official felt that he “looked lively and was willing to take his man on” and “linked up play well”.
However, the 22-year-old winger drew mixed reactions from these ‘Gers fans on Twitter:

Ojo should never be in a rangers strip again

I have seen some awful players play for Rangers, especially when we were coming up the divisions and I would honestly say Ojo is one of them.

Did you think Ojo had a strong performance against Ross County or is he still too inconsistent to be trusted? Join in the discussion by commenting below!
