Currently in charge of Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa, the Portuguese is understood to be keen on negotiating his exit terms in the Middle East over the weekend, allowing him to jet into Glasgow on Monday.
It’s thought he is already casting thoughts over who to appoint in his backroom staff, with an assistant who boasts a Scottish background said to be in line for a move.
The Rangers fans here are merely hopeful of seeing a deal completed before their clash with the Hoops, hoping to win at least one of their games in one of Europe’s most famous derbies this term
