Rangers have confirmed on their official website rangers.co.uk that Mexican striker Eduardo Herrera has completed a permanent transfer to Puebla in his homeland, with the news also shared on Twitter via @RangersFC.

The 31-year-old has spent the majority of the last two years on loan in his native country, having had spells at Santos Laguna and Necaxa, after joining Rangers in the summer of 2017 in a deal worth £1.5m (as per BBC).
Herrera made 24 appearances for the ‘Gers during the 2017/18 season, scoring two goals, but never featured at Ibrox under Steven Gerrard. Indeed, of his 24 games in a Rangers shirt, all but two came as a substitute. Despite being unable to make much of an impact in Glasgow, the Mexican still expressed great fondness for the club in a farewell tweet in which he signed off “Once a Ger always a Ger” [via @LaloHerrera15].
The Ibrox club’s confirmation of the 31-year-old’s permanent departure drew a mixed reaction from these ‘Gers fans on Twitter, with some glad to see the back of him (one even called for a knighthood for director of football Ross Wilson) and others bidding him a fond farewell:
