Liverpool are still waiting to see whether the Premier League season will be resumed or cancelled due to the current pandemic.
The Reds are within touching distance of winning their first league title in 30 years – they lead the English top flight by a huge 25 points – but the campaign was suspended with them just two wins and six points away from confirming their status as champions. With Ligue 1 and the Eredivisie both taking the decision to end their seasons now, the Anfield outfit’s fans will have no doubt been worried that the same could happen in England.

There is some good news for the Reds, though, and it comes from Germany. On Wednesday, their chancellor Angela Merkel confirmed that the Bundesliga would be allowed to resume and it has now been decided that the league will start up again next weekend.
