Liverpool’s Fabinho has grown into one of the very best players in the world at Anfield.
Gary Neville called the Brazil international the best defensive midfielder on the planet in September of last year (Sky Sports via Metro) and it is hard to argue with him. The Reds won every single Premier League game with him in the starting XI up until he was forced off injured against Napoli in the Champions League, and there were serious worries that the Reds would struggle without the 26-year-old in the middle of the park.

In all fairness, they continued to conquer all of those who came before them, but that should not take away from the importance of the £50.4m-valued man, as per Transfermarkt. The Liverpool fans themselves are clearly fond of the former AS Monaco man going by the comments on a tweet from the Empire of the Kop Twitter page – one supporter even called him a “gladiator”. They asked their followers to describe Fabinho in one word, and there were plenty of glowing appraisals.
