As a player, Steven Gerrard is an absolute Liverpool legend.
The former England international wrote himself into the history of the Anfield outfit during his time at the club, during which he made a mammoth 710 appearances. Whilst he may have played for the club during one of their less successful spells, he still managed to inspire them to Champions League glory in 2005, as well as a number of other trophies along the way.

His career as a manager so far has not been as glittering, though. His experience to date consists of two years at Rangers, with him yet to win any silverware. Still, that lack of success has not stopped Jamie Redknapp believing he could be a Liverpool manager down the line – he even said that he could replace Jurgen Klopp when the German eventually leaves (The Lockdown Tactics via Metro).

Whilst Gerrard may be a club legend, it seems that many of the Reds supporters do not agree with Redknapp’s endorsement of him as a potential successor to Klopp. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:
Nonsense !!! Love the guy but no way he follows Klopp – completely undoes what he has built

People need to stop talking about Klopps successor.

Strong disagree. Aside from his exploits in the Europa League, he hasn’t done anywhere near enough as Rangers manager to be even close to the Liverpool manager job yet. https://t.co/kYi2Kspard

We will go several steps back awards with Stevie. Jamie is wishing on a fairytale. Gerard is playing old English footie at Rangers. He has no real direction. He was a superb player and that’s where we should leave it

There Jamie goes again proving he knows very little about football.
