Loads of Liverpool fans have rubbished reports that their side are looking to sign Benfica defender Ruben Dias, according to the Express.
The report suggests that Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking to bolster their defensive options with the addition of the 22-year-old, who has four years left on his contract with As Águias, as per TransferMarkt. Dias has 17 caps for Portugal, which has also attracted interest from the likes of Manchester City and Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.
Dias represents all the characteristics of a ball-playing centre half, averaging 1.2 tackles, 5.4 long balls and a pass success rate of 89.3% from 20 starts in Liga NOS, according to Whoscored. Furthermore, this illustrates his composure in possession and at such a young age, he has many years to improve further. Despite this, supporters were not keen on Dias coming to Anfield, with one fan saying that this is more of a Manchester City signing than a Liverpool one.
