The Whites have been heavily linked with a move for Marcelo Bielsa in recent weeks, yet there are fans in the local that have been concerned about the latest developments.
There has been rumours that Matias Almeyda could be a possible option should a move for the former Argentina and Chile boss fall through, yet reliable journalist Phil Hay has provided a key update on the current situation regarding their options.
The Yorkshire Evening Post chief football writer was answering a question on Twitter that a fan had asked about the former Club Guadalajara boss being a front runner for the role, to which he confirmed that Bielsa does indeed remain the club’s first-choice to replace Paul Heckingbottom.

Hay stated that Bielsa is still the first choice for the Whites this summer, yet revealed that Almeyda is a possible option that is available should things not happen as they hope, in news which is sure to intrigue our resident Leeds supporters, many of whom are seriously hoping that a decision will be made in the near future.
Landlord’s Verdict: Almeyda has had a relatively successful career as a footballer and has already started to make a name for himself in the management game.
He has already coached the likes of River Plate and Banfield in Argentina, whilst he recently guided Chivas Guadalajara to a CONCACAF Champions League victory this season.
