Our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern has, like many of our punters, witnessed the rise of Manchester City from a bottom half team to Premier League champions.

During their mesmerising rise to the top they have had a number of players that have helped them, some very memorable like Vincent Kompany and Joe Hart as well as Robinho and even Jerome Boateng – who we all know has since gone on to be one of the best defenders on the planet.

But although they are memorable, there’s also plenty of players to have graced the club that some might not be that familiar with.

Indeed, for every world class name, City have also had those players that were more run of the mill – particularly in the early oil-money days.

So with that, these are two players you’ve probably forgot ever played for Man City…

Bernardo Corradi

City have had some top signings join the club in recent seasons with their strikers certainly forming quite the impressive list.

The likes of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and lately Gabriel Jesus have all earned themselves impressive reputations but only one man knighted players when he scored – Bernardo Corradi. The journeyman Italian striker didn’t score many for City but when he did, it was an event.

Javier Garrido

The left-back was at the club between 2007 and 2010 and was your regulation bog standard Premier League player.

He didn’t offer masses going forward and was solid if unspectacular at the back before being replaced by Aleksandar Kolarov. He did, however, have a decent left foot on him and still to this day plays for AEK Larnaca where he is in his mid-30’s.
