The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Public Investment Fund (PIF) are reportedly now eyeing up Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana for Newcastle United.
The Lowdown: High praise
Sulemana is a player who has received high praise in the past, with new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag dubbing him ‘technically skilled’ with ‘a lot of speed’ (Football Ghana).
Football talent scout Jacek Kulig has labelled him as an ‘enormous talent’, while his former coach at FC Nordsjaelland, Flemming Pedersen, hailed him as an ‘extraordinary’ winger who is ‘even faster’ than PSG and Brazil superstar Neymar.
With all those plaudits, the 20-year-old, now at Rennes in Ligue 1, is sure to attract some interest as the transfer window goes on.

As per French news outlet L’Equipe, PIF are now eyeing a potential move for Sulemana before the window closes.
They have been linked with the likes of Leeds United’s Jack Harrison and Chelsea’s Timo Werner, so it is clear that they would like to bring a new wide player in for Eddie Howe, and the Ghanaian starlet is next up on the list.
The Verdict: Cheaper alternative
Given that they would not be buying directly from a Premier League rival, Sulemana could be seen as a cheaper alternative to the likes of Harrison and Werner.

Nonetheless, with him and Saint-Maximin either side of Callum Wilson, the Tynesiders could form a truly scary trio up top.
