The Argentine is expected to arrive in the next week following his appointment as the new manager and will be keen to have a good look at his players and see where he needs to make a number of improvements.
One player that could be on his way out of Elland Road is Marcus Antonsson, with reports suggesting that he could be on his way to Italy. Gazzetta Dello Sport, via the Yorkshire Evening Post, are claiming that Brescia are interested in offering the Swede away out of his nightmare with the Whites.
The striker, who spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, is no longer required at Leeds and it is believed that the club are keen to offload him from their wage bill, having scored just three times in 21 appearances in his first year.
Brescia, who are owned by former owner Massimo Cellino, are keen to improve and believe the Swede can help them move higher up the table.
Landlord’s Verdict
The writing looked to be on the wall for Antonsson when he joined Blackburn on the season-long loan and many had felt he would stay in Lancashire, however, it appears he is heading to the Serie B instead.
The locals in the bar will be happy to offload him and will hope the club can use the money raised from a sale to help bring new players into the club before the start of the Championship season.
