Report: Orta instrumental as Leeds United seal one of their biggest ever coups

Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern may be able to start enjoying their time supporting their club as they are on the verge of sorting out a new manager.

Marcelo Bielsa is expected to be appointed as the new Whites manager in the coming days, which will allow the Championship side to make some inroads into the transfer market as well as prepare for the season with enough time.

The process to bring the Argentine has been a long and lengthy ordeal, which according to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, started with Victor Orta. The director of football at Leeds knew the former Argentina and Chile manager from his past a while back and is thought to have made the initial movements to bring him to Elland Road.

Orta was the man to suggest the possibility of bringing Bielsa to Yorkshire when he established a meeting between himself and Andrea Radrizzani before he headed out to South America to hold talks with the 62-year-old.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Leeds fans in the Tavern have been critical of Orta in the past when it comes down to his recruitment of players and managers, however, it looks as though he has put the hard work into bringing Bielsa to Elland Road.

The punters in the bar will hope this signing is not like any of his last and will be hoping to see the former international manager turn Leeds around and quickly.
