A host of Premier League clubs missed out on defender Mehdi Benatia and the fans of those clubs are currently watching videos of him in the Football Transfer Tavern.

Manchester United, Chelsea and even Tottenham were rumoured to be keeping tabs on the defender.

But it is the fans of Manchester City that may have to face the repercussions of the Moroccans’ move to Germany as Roma look for his replacement.

And according to TalkSport Serie A giants Roma may now make a shock move for Citizens defender Micah Richards.

The defender has struggled for first team action in recent seasons despite being the club’s longest serving player.

And the thought of regular football and Champions League appearances could be enough to sway Richards.

The 26-year old spoke out and said that he wanted this season to be the season to reignite his stalling career and it looks like the Italian club could give him that chance.
