Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have many reasons to be optimistic for the future following their club’s recent form in the Premier League.

Romelu Lukaku’s sensational form has really made an impact for the Toffees and the big Belgian tops the league’s scoring charts along with Alexis Sanchez and Harry Kane, which has delighted our resident Toffeee’s in the Tavern.

Whilst the Everton fans have been raising many a glass to manager Ronald Koeman and his Evertonians, our landlord has warned that their club need to make sure they keep hold of as many of their stars as possible this summer, and if they fail to do so, it may be detrimental to the club’s progression.

He has even suggested Koeman rotates his squad more to get his fringe players up to speed with his style of football.

Our landlord’s comments have installed a bit of nervousness within the Toffees fans in the Tavern, and it’ll take a bit more than a strong liquor to calm their nerves about losing their key players before next season.

The topic of conversation has even changed to who in the squad can step up if one of their regular starters do leave.

So, whilst maintaining the topic – here are TWO players that should be playing more in this Everton side…

Enner Valencia

There is no doubt that Romelu Lukaku has been the main man at Everton this season but with the Belgian’s future on Merseyside looking more and more unclear, the better he plays – it may be worth Ronald Koeman starting to think about signing Valencia permanently from West Ham.

The Ecuadorian has somewhat impressed whenever he has played this season, most notably in the 3-0 win over Southampton at the turn of the year and baring in mind his versatility, our landlord believes Koeman is missing a trick not playing Valencia.

Muhamed Bešić

The Bosnian has endured a wretched 2016/17 season which started with him sustaining a knee injury in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial resulting in a six-month lay off.

Now returning to full fitness, Everton fans in the Tavern are keen to see what Bešić can do among a midfield that includes players of both genuine quality and high potential

There in an optimistic view here in the Tavern that Bešić has that potential.
