Nottingham Forest failed to keep pace with the promotion pack as they could only draw with QPR on Saturday, but the substitute appearance of Alex Mighten is cause for optimism.
Indeed, it’s not hard to imagine supporters having faith in the club’s academy and they certainly have reason to feel excited about the future due to the number of prospects that have been produced over the years, with Joe Worrall and Ryan Yates examples of players who have made it to the first team. Mighten is only 17 but he too seems to have trust from Sabri Lamouchi, although the left winger couldn’t influence the game in Forest’s favour at the weekend.
Despite that, the youngster was clearly delighted at being able to make his first appearance at the City Ground and he expressed his joy on Twitter after the match.

Fans have been encouraging in their responses to Mighten, with a number suggesting he should get more minutes from now until the end of the season, even though the stakes are very high currently.
Below are a few of the kind words that have been sent to the wide player.

You’ll come across easier opponents than Angel Rangel mate. A bit of a baptism of fire that one- you can hold your head up high though.
