Writing on Twitter, reliable Manchester City correspondent Sam Lee has claimed that striker Sergio Aguero ‘might be injured again’ after he was taken off in the 1-1 draw against West Ham United this afternoon.
Who should step in for Aguero if he is ruled out for Man City?
Sterling
Delap
Jesus (upon return)
The Argentine, who only recently returned to action under Pep Guardiola after coming back from a meniscus injury, starting against FC Porto in the Champions League during City’s 3-1 win, could now be out again after this update.
Foden on, which they need, but Aguero off and I think he might be injured again

Sharing his insight, The Athletic writer claims Aguero could be injured after Phil Foden was brought on at half time to replace him, with the youngster going on to grab an equaliser for the Sky Blues.
Aguero was out of action since July after injuring his knee in a 5-0 victory over Burnley, missing City’s Champions League and FA Cup challenges. Guardiola and co arguably missed the club legend’s presence, with Gabriel Jesus shouldering a lot of responsibility at centre-forward without any natural backup option.
Raheem Sterling can play as the striker in a makeshift role and academy forward Liam Delap has made great strides in working his way into the first team.
Delap scored a brilliant finish during City’s 2-1 win Carabao Cup win over Bournemouth this time last month, and if Lee’s update is anything to go by, Guardiola could be more reliant on the youngster and Jesus as striking options unless a positive update arises.
Aguero, valued at £37.8m by Transfermarkt, could now face another spell out injured – which could mean bad news for the Blues. City supporters will be hoping the 32-year-old will be fit for the title challenge, especially since he is yet to sign a contract extension.
