Steven Gerrard’s first full month as the Rangers manager has been an impressive one. The Gers have ensured they’ll be in the Europa League group stages thanks to some strong individual displays, with the fans calling for Allan McGregor to be named the player of the month for August over Alfredo Morelos and Connor Goldson. Allan McGregor resigned for the club this summer for his second spell at Ibrox and the fans are all delighted with his return. He’s had a real impact since he came back and the fans have taken to the 36-year-old goalkeeper as his personality off the pitch and his performances on it have shown what they’ve been missing between the sticks in previous seasons.
McGregor, who’s been nicknamed ‘shagger’ by a lot of the fans, has done well to slot back in at Ibrox and has even been at the heart of a few different controversies so far. The first Old Firm derby was last weekend and the goalkeeper got away with what looked like a clear kick-out on Kristoffer Ajer, the incident went unpunished and no retrospective action was taken against McGregor, although a lot of Celtic fans were left fuming.

Shagger. Morelos has scored goals and Goldson has been a unit at the back with Katic. But in my opinion, Gerrard's best signing so far and will be the best signing for this season is McGregor.

Has to be @therealgreegsy1 If not for him it'd be 1 league game won from 4 AND the OF game would have been another 4 or 5 nil job. Some real evidence of progress needs shown in the league. Don't believe the hype

The Bluenoses’ seem unanimous in their decision to give McGregor the player of the month award and they’ll be keen to see him keep his form right up into the season.
