The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to Glenn Middleton’s heroics as he scored twice as Rangers’ development squad eased past Icelandic side Breidablik 4-0 on Tuesday. Middleton scored either side of halftime for the Gers before Myles Beerman and Stephen Kelly both scored to make it 4-0.
Brilliant 4-0 win today, very happy to score twice as well!

Whilst the Rangers fans propping our bar up will no doubt be pleased with the win and with Middleton’s double, they’ll be keeping one eye on Sunday as the most important Old Firm derby of the season approaches. Rangers have their work cut out for them as a win for their Glasgow rivals puts them into the Scottish Cup final and just a single win away from securing back-to-back trebles, something the Bhoys in Green will never let the Gers forget.
Glenn Middleton is unlikely to feature on the weekend, although the Rangers fans will be looking forward to seeing their January signing kicking on and making a career from himself at Ibrox after switching from Carrow Road a few months ago. Next season is likely to be the 18-year-old’s breakthrough campaign in the first-team if he can keep performing for the Bluenoses’ development squads the way he is.
