Serious improvement needed: These 2 Chelsea men must go out on loan next season

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Andreas Christensen will be joined by a few of his former academy teammates next season.

The Dane has been one of the few young Blues to make the breakthrough into the first team over the last few years, and that’s a real shame.

There has been, and still is, a lot of incredible talent behind the scenes within the Chelsea developmental system.

Fans have begun to see a little bit of that over the last few years, but realistically, given the demands on the first team, youth involvement has been, and will continue to be, limited at best.

That’s unlikely to change next season, and so perhaps it’s time for Conte – or whoever is in charge – to send a few more young players out on loan.

With that said, these 2 Chelsea men must go out on loan next season…

 Ethan Ampadu

Ethan Ampadu has had a bit of a breakthrough season at Chelsea, but it seems unlikely that he will get a chance next season.

Kurt Zouma may be coming back to the club, and after a season of limited first-team action, a short-term departure could be the making of Ampadu.

He’s proven that he’s ready to make the jump to first team action, and so perhaps a loan to the Championship could be the perfect next step for the Welshman.

He’s raw, and Chelsea can’t afford to have any players that may make mistakes, and so a loan makes sense. He’s incredibly talented and versatile, so he’ll no doubt be useful to a decent side.

 Callum Hudson-Odoi

Callum Hudson-Odoi really has deserved more minutes this season.

The young attacker has had a bit-part role at Stamford Bridge this season, but he’s so far beyond the developmental team at Chelsea. He can’t afford another year at that level.

He’s more than ready for a starting berth, and perhaps even a top-flight team may be ready to take a punt on him.

Chelsea have seen this season that a loan can have huge benefits, in the case of Kenedy, and so perhaps he can take a similar path.
