This week has been a pretty good one for young Jamie Shackleton. The 18-year-old midfielder made his debut on Saturday evening, coming off the bench for the last 15 minutes of the Whites’ superb 4-1 win at Derby before signing a new three-year with the club just two days later.

The young midfielder is one that a lot of fans will be keeping a close eye on over the next few years. He could just be the next big thing to come out of the club’s academy and join the likes of Lewis Cook, Fabian Delph and James Milner as stars in the Premier League. It won’t be an easy path to follow, but it looks like the youngster has all the talent to make it in the top flight and if he can gain promotion with the Whites this season it would be a great start.
You couldn’t fault anyone in a Leeds shirt on Saturday night. Even the goal they conceded was a superb one that Baley Peacock-Farrell had no chance with, and overall it was a resounding win for the Yorkshire club who are sitting pretty second in the Championship, only behind Middlesbrough because they’ve played a game less. If Marcelo Bielsa’s side can keep up their form, then there’s no reason they can’t win the league and Shackleton will be hoping he can play his way into the starting eleven as the season draws on.

Shackleton will need to keep his feet on the ground at Leeds and Bielsa can help him with that. It will be tough for him to get into the first team but if he can get there, he certainly has the ability to stay there.
