Amid the transfer frenzy that is Deadline Day, the Crystal Palace fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have almost completely forgotten about their crunch clash away at Bournemouth tonight. While Sam Allardyce will no doubt be at his wheeling-dealing best today, there is the small matter of a relegation fight to contend with.
Still, with so much talk surrounding the likes of the potential outgoing Andros Townsend, as well as the potentially incoming Mamadou Sakho, some of the Eagles in the bar have been discussing the departure of Jordon Mutch. No doubt a talented technician, Big Sam has allowed the former Cardiff City ace to join Championship promotion hopefuls Reading on loan for the rest of the campaign.
As silky a playmaker as Mutch is, it’s fair to say he never really had too much of an impact at Selhurst Park following his move in 2015, so not too many of the Palace-mad punters are crying their eyes out right now.
