Sheffield Wednesday fell down to a Sergio Aguero goal last night in the FA Cup fifth round as Manchester City edged the Owls 1-0 at Hillsborough.
Going into the game, the Owls had not portrayed good home form in the Sky Bet Championship and, with that in mind, there might have been few fans expecting that to change last night.
Indeed, the result will ultimately go down as a loss, but, the manner of the defeat and the context of the opponents will raise hopes amongst the fan base that they can finish the season on better footing.
Ultimately, it’s inconsistency that has really hampered them this season whilst the fans also feel as though some of their players have not performed up to the standards that they know they can.
One man to receive criticism, too, is Barry Bannan, though he received praise from Pep Guardiola no less after the game.
With that in mind, then, let’s see how Owls fans took in his latest performance in the middle of the park:

Another thing that annoys me at the moment about our club is our reliance on Bannan for all the set pieces. In the first half we had a free kick in a decent position and it was crying out for Fessi who was lining up, but Bannan had to take it and did nowt with it. #swfc

Wildsmith had a good game overall. Iorfa was a beast, Fessi, great game, shouldn’t have been subbed. Murphy played well 1st half. Borner was awful, Pelupessy redundant, Bannan awful 2nd half. Lees hit and miss, Fletch couldn’t get into the game Hunt good, the rest Meh #swfc
