A number of Sheffield Wednesday fans were far from happy with what they had seen from Barry Bannan in their disappointing defeat to Derby County on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls were far from their best in the opening 45 minutes and were duly punished by the visitors as a brace from Tom Lawrence and an effort from Jason Knight inside the first 30 minutes left Garry Monk’s side facing an uphill task in rescuing anything from the game (BBC).
Josh Windass may have netted with just over 15 minutes to go, however it was far too late for the Hillsborough outfit to make the most of and it seems a number of their supporters took out their frustrations on Twitter following a shambolic performance.
Indeed, Bannan was one of their players that seemed to bear the brunt of their anger on the social media site and his statistical data perhaps would further highlight some of the points the Wednesdaynites made in their reactions.
According to WhoScored, the 30-year-old only managed to play two key passes, provided just one interception and managed to block just one shot as he dropped a display thought to be worthy of a match rating of just 5.76.
